I'm trying to set up an international money transfer from KEB to Schwab Bank in the US.

The problem is that KEB wants Schwab's ABA # and for international transfers Schwab uses a swift# through Citibank...so I cant give Schwab's ABA#, but the banker insists that I give this anyway.

Were any of you able to get around this?

For the Brokerage you use Citibank's ABA number. The Schwab account is handled via a memo.

Destination Bank: Citibank N.A., New York
SWIFT ID: CITIUS33
ABA: 021000089
Account Name: Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.
Account Number: 4060-7595
Bank Address: 111 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005, USA
For Further Credit to:
(To ensure your account is properly credited, provide the 8-digit account
number and name[s] listed on your Schwab account.)

If you have the linked brokerage/checking account there is an ABA number for the checking account. No SWIFT code but KEB may be able to deal with that (it's what I ended up doing tho. I don't bank with KEB):

ABA/Routing & Transit Number: 121202211
Account Type: Checking
Name of the Financial Institution:
Charles Schwab Bank
5190 Neil Road, Suite 100
Reno, NV 89502-8532

AWESOME THANKS!

Yes I have the Schwab Brokerage/High Yield Checking, but Id rather use the brokerage account for the wire since Schwab will not charge me a fee for incoming wires.

Thanks again for your help!

They haven't charged for wire transfers straight into checking for me. Saves me a step.

Somebody in the chain of transactions likes to eat an extra $20 though but I suspect that's because my bank does not have a US affiliate.

Glad to be of service. I first heard about Schwab bank on this forum.
