Not surprising. Good try though. Any journalist that asks questions like that would be black-balled, in any country. In China, he'd have his visa revoked and be promptly kicked out pretty fast. In the US probably be hard for him to enter the White House press room after an incident like that, and when his visa is up for renewal will mysteriously get rejected. |

I don't agree with how the reporter handled things. He made things bad, but it is obvious that the K-TIMES is potentially making things worse (or better ) by highlighting the "late night" entertainment of high-level business talks.
Outside investors may see this as deeply corrupt or they could be smiling, rubbing their palms together... |

The fact that grown men in important government positions feel they need to say "the 'F' word" instead of just writing out *beep* is pathetic. The entire world needs to relax out regarding swearing. No one is harmed by hearing these words. Not wanting to curse is one thing, but a reluctance to write out the word when relevant is just silly. |

What I'm wondering is: Did the guy just get up at a press conference otherwise dedicated to strictly economic issues, and start asking questions about room salons? If so, I could see how that might not go over so well.
If the guy was really concerned about the advancement of women in Korean society, it might have been a better idea for him to set up an interview with the Ministry Of Gender Equality, or whatever its called over here, and direct his questions there. But then, that wouldn't have made as sensational a splash. |
