I've read lots of comments on the Foreign Income Exclusion option, but it seems I don't qualify as I was back home for about 2 months last year. I just spoke with someone at IRS and he recommended filing a 1116 Foreign Tax Credit form along with the 1040. He said that I should owe nothing if I was paying taxes overseas and use that form.
Anyone have any experience using the 1116?
Also, for those who speak Korean, how should my tax deduction appear on my pay stub. From what I gather they either deducted very little (~26,000 monthly) or nothing, which could be a problem when I file the 1116. |
