Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the latest version installed. Last time I tried to do it, I bricked my PSP. Anywhere in Yongsan? Thanks...

Got it done yesterday, actually.

Go to the underground video games market and check out the third store down on the right (at the entrance of the market, there are only stores on the right side). It should be a store called GAS.

The owner speaks decent English and will mod your PSP on the spot for you for 20k won.

My current cfw is 5.50 gen-D3, which I believe is the latest and greatest.

I'd do it myself, but I didn't have access to a Pandora battery. Probably will be able to update it now when future revisions release.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. So, you can play the latest games with this firmware? I think I know the area you mean. Like the avatar!

If a game doesn't work on this cfw, I doubt it'll work on any other. This cfw should play all the latest games. Haven't tested all yet, but all have worked so far. Let me know how it goes!

If it is a fresh install of the custom firmware, then I would recommend going to Yongsan. I usually go to the game centre (long underground tunnel) and go to the same guy as when I update my Wii (third on the left "...ING" is the name I believe) The guy speaks great English and knows what to do.

Once you customize the firmware, there is a developer that made a program that you can easily download and install new updates (Just google PSP custom firmware "CFW"). I'm still on 5.5 Gen D1(I believe) firmware as haven't felt like bothering updating since the game I am currently playing works on it.

With the one BB has (Gen D3), you can play most if not all of the new games if you can find them ripped.

It says online that it closes at 8pm but I would go earlier then that. I went there at 7,45pm once and most of the stores were closed or closing and not doing any more business.

Also, the market is closed on Mondays and the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.

If you happen to be a Magic the Gathering fan (long shot perhaps), there is a pretty awesome homebrew I just came across. It's still a WIP but it covers almost 60 different sets and expansions - far more than any official computerized version - and features pretty competent opponest AI. It's called Wagic

30 Second Hero is a bit old but great fun, especially for subway time. Good little bites of gameplay.

Tekken 6 kicks ass. Hwoarang kicks face.

I just got mine recently from some dude on the forum. I'd like recommendations too.

Depends on what genre of games you like:

RPG:
-Jeanne d'Arc is a great game.
-Final Fantasy Tactics transferred well to portable and the second installment is good as well (Tactics A2).
-Final Fantasy Crisis Core is decent but not a traditional RPG.
-Disgaea 1+2 are great fun. Lot of time can be spent on these games.
-30 Second Hero is real fun and like the previos poster said, great for a quick subway ride
-Untold Legends is a standard hack-and-slash i.e. Diablo

Driving/Racing:
-Wipeout:Pulse is beautiful.
-Burnout games are always fun.

Action/Fighting:
-Final Fantasy Dissidia. It is a fighting game with RPG elements added in (you can buy/create weapons/armor/acc./etc., use magic)
-Tekken 6

Sports:
-Tiger Woods is a good time waster.
-Hot Shots is an animated golf game with lots of replay value.
-Pangya Golf is a Korean version of Hot Shots.
-Madden is alright on the PSP.
-NCAA football is rubbish.

Puzzles: don't play that many of these but...
-Lumines I've heard is fun
-Puzzle Quest (RPG style of Bejewelled)

And then there are the emulators and roms you can put on from the other consoles.
NES/SNES, Sega, PS1, N64, etc

That is all off the top of my head.
