I'm getting ready to submit my passport renewal application, and the specifications listed on-line say that the photograph has to be "matted", not glossy. What does this mean, exactly?
The photos I had taken just look like regular photos to me, and are smooth to the touch. |

If you're printing the photos on your own, then when you buy photo paper to print them make sure its "Matte" photo paper, it'll say it on the package.
If you're getting the photos printed somewhere just request matte photos, otherwise they will usually assume glossy.
And yes, just what the last two people said,
Glossy = Shiny (the standard)
Matte = Not shiny, lol |
