|
|
I read it's 100mbits. I'm curious to know what kb/mb real speed people max out on KT's highest service, QOOK. I'm on KT Lite now, maxing out at 500kb/s -- really crumby. I can't wait to get QOOK at my new apt (KT said they support 100mbit at my new address).
Hmm, I asked about a business line today on the phone with them. They said it's 1,500,000 Won with a dedicated IP. I wonder how fast that is. |

We have megapass lite and get download speeds of 10 megabytes per second when it's maxed out. That's a 100 m/bit connection.
I can't imagine faster speeds with the "highest service." |

I've had 1.1MB/s download speeds before, which is 1MB/s more than the 10(100mbps) I pay for. Up is slightly less, think the max I've done is 8. I'm on QOOK Lite by the way, which used to be KT Megapass Lite when I first signed up for it.
What kind of building are you in, and what are you donwloading and from where? This is more likely the cause of your slow speeds. |

The lite service is supposed to provide 5MB/s download. The full service is supposed to provide 10MB/s.
I have the lite package but due to living in the god-damn countryside, my max is 750kB/s or 0.75MB/s. Upload is cruddy too - only 75kB/s.
And yes, I know how to max out my connection. |

i couldnt believe it. i thought it was a mistake or something. this was shortly after i arrived and i was used to maxing out at about 1.1mb/s with rogers cable in canada. i was paying about 90$ for that. my qook only costs like 30, and in getting unlimited bandwidth and unbelievable speeds.
i love that about korea. but at the same time, KT is trying to tell me the best they can do is like 69,000w for a shitty 2gb blackberry plan with only like 150 minutes on it....stuff is assbackwards here. |

My new apartment (it's in an old apartment building) has the 4-prong telephone socket.
Right now I've got KT Lite with my modem connected to a regular telephone socket. Just 500kb/s, though.
I'm calling KT tomorrow to see if 4-prong socket vs. phone line socket will make a difference in speed. I have a strong feeling it will... |

Yeah I get that quite a bit off private sites. The best things is I haven't paid a cent for my internet. The guy that was living here never canceled his internet, I tried but they told me that he would have to call up and confirm.
So one year of insanely fast internet for free |

| Non of the speeds are guaranteed. I get about 2.8MB/s with my gwanglan( fastest)service. Wheb i called to complain they said " sorry, we cant make it faster. Also we cant give you any discounts because the speeds we asvertise are mqximum speeds. We do not say they are rypical of the average user." |

Living in a villa is awesome. They just string the cable in from the street. Looks disgusting, but who cares when you get 7mb downloads(my record at least). |

This happened to me for my cable TV but I just payed the bill when it came in the mail. Why haven't they cut the internet off? |

Note: Megabyte (MB) = Megabit (Mb) divided by 8. (not the large and small B)
So 100 Mb/sec divided by 8 = 12.5 MB/sec.
Thus, your maximum download speed can be up to about 12.5 MB/sec.
80 Mb/sec connection would max out at 10 MB/sec. |
