Hi all,
I am looking at buying a decent size HD flat screen and wanted some advice....
I will be using it mainly for watching movies, and hooking it up to my laptop to watch TV shows.
So what are the criteria I should be looking at? Contrast ratio? plasma or LCD? I don't want to spend more than 1mill.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

i think 1st u need to decide if u want to go 720p or 1080p resolution...it can make a huge difference in price and for me 720p has been perfect considering the price i paid for this 50inch badboy
who wants to download 10gb+ 1080p movie files anyway?..so for the budget u got id go 720p (plasma for movies cannot be beaten for motion and contrast especially blacks and whites looking natural, but to be fair most screens these days are of high quality and look great) 1080p probably wouldnt make much difference in the 40-42 inch size. console gaming is also fantastic on 720p. im no expert about contrast ratios so id say...
check the screen out in person check the colours. some have annoying reflective coatings. i really dont know why..possibly protective?. maybe go into homeplus and ask them to match an online price from enuri or danawa...ive done it before there and at hi-mart. they usually do that too. at least then u knows your getting it froma reputable shop. u can pick up decnt 42inch plasmas for 700k. at the higher end of your budget 42inch lcds 1080p can be had for just under a mil if u wanna go that way. |

Plenty of 1080p 40-42" LCD's for under a mil. Samsung and LG's can be had new for around 800-900k.
Can your laptop handle 1920x1080 resolution output? |
