Hi All!
I am trying to decide on a placement for this year. Hoping to be in South Korea in the next 6 weeks. Anyhow, I was wondering which travel guide(s) are the best if I'm going to be living in Korea for the next few years? Which ones are in-depth/user friendly? Adversely, anyone who has suggestions of travel guides to avoid, I appreciate it!
Thanks a million,
~Ali |

Before I came to Korea last year, I picked up "Insight Guides: South Korea" apparently developed by the Discovery Channel. Completely in colour, it starts with talking briefly about the culture, history and geography. After that it gives the highlights and tourist hotspots for any major cities and each province in addition to admission fees and times.
It also has a map of the Seoul Subway system, downtown Seoul and downtown Busan.
The Traveltips section gives you phone numbers, customs, hotels, etc if you're not sure what you want to do.
I'm pretty sure most guides have this, but I just really like this one because it has a lot of beautiful photos. |
