Noticed that Homeplus are starting to sell all their bbq gear lately and got me thinking, where are you allowed to have one?

I doubt the apartment guard would be happy having one on your balcony and unless Homeplus are targeting the minority that have houses and gardens I don't know where you can or are allowed to use them.

Wouldn't mind getting one for some summer sausages so if anyone knows where you are allowed to go and just start cooking share your thoughts.

On a seperate note, is it frowned upon to go up on your apartment building roof to sunbath? Just cause no Koreans do it might not mean its not allowed huh?!

I don't know about the BBQ thing, but I imagine that it wouldn't be a problem to go on your roof to sunbathe, especially if there aren't any Koreans up there doing it (as I'm sure you know yourself, they think pale skin is more attractive because it means you don't work outdoors).

you can bbq anywhere you want. except in the mountains during mountain-fire season. the best is a good ol'cook-up roadside on the #1 on the way to seoul.

Koreans like to go all out on hiking trips. This includes BBQ and entire backpacks full of banchan and alcohol.

If you live in a smaller town then you can just have a BBQ in the park....officially it is illegal, but I've never had any big issues. The police came once and kind of grumbled at us, but then they just left.
