My school provided me with a new phone right when I came back to Korea.
It's an Anycall flip phone on a contract from SK Telecom, nothing special (they just deduct the monthly bill from my pay, nice and easy). I'm not sure if the contract is in my name or the school's since the phone was ready for me when I got here (it was brand new). After a few drunken escapades the screen has acquired several nice scratches. I'd like to be able to buy a new handset without having to deal with my boss.
Since the phone uses a sim card, can I buy any phone locked to SK Telecom and just swap in the new sim? That's how I've always done it back in Toronto when I was with rogers, but I don't know if these sim cards work the same way.
If not I guess I'd have to get my school involved which I'd rather not do. I know I'd be paying a premium for a new handset without re-upping the contract, I'm fine with that. |
