Hey everyone, I work for a hagwon, and we are currently trying to beef up or system here. We have (or maybe I should say I have) started us a website, we have obtained a pretty good web based listening and speaking software to use both in the classroom and for the students to use at home. We have picked out an intensive reading program to use as well. My boss and I have been looking all over for some sort of writing program, something that can both be used in the classroom and at home, so Web based would be best.
As many of you know, parents want what they think of as the best in the hagwons, and in this area it seems that the more technology the better. I do like the speaking and listening software, the reading software is ok. I can see great applications at home and in the classroom for both. I am just having a hard time thinking of any writing software. Do any of you use a writing help software in the classroom at all? Do you know of any?

What about any student management programs? I would also like to get us all in the computer, instead of hand written notes everywhere. This will help us so that parents can view their students progress. I am having issues finding a program that I can customize enough so that the parents can understand, for example editing text so that it is in Korean.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are doing lots of great stuff.

You might be interested in English Central. I helped develop the teacher's forum. You can track students, choose the videos they will practice etc.. State of the art, nothing better than it online (a google backed product). You can read more about it on EFL Classroom or just try it.

http://edu20.org is an easy LMS (learning management system) you can set up to track students, grade etc... others take a lot of technical know how...

Thank you so much for the reply. I am doing what I can to help provide an adequate education to my students.

I will take a look into the information you linked me to. Thanks again.
