Free lecture for foreigners in Korea: positive dog training

Location: Korean Clicker Training Center in Seoul (near Gwanheungchang Station, Exit No. 1)

Date and time: Saturday, March 20, 7-9 p.m.

In this two-hour lecture, Dr. C.J. Park, President of the Korean Society of Human Animal Bond, will discuss dog behavior and provide an introduction to clicker training. This method of training involves teaching a dog to associate the sound of a clicker with a food reward.

Reservations in advance are necessary. If you would like to attend, please e-mail Dr. Kwon at the Mari Animal Hospital ([email protected]) no later than Wednesday, March 17. Please include your name and cell phone number, and your dog�s name, age and breed.

Ha ha ha! Why in the world would something like this be offered to foreigners? This is a sweeping generalization with nothing more to support it than my own personal experience, but the foreign pet owners I've know in Korea have trained their dogs far better than the Korean pet owners I've know.

I dunno, sounds like someone wants to be nice and offer a class that isn't usually offered to foreigners. Just like how a gradually increasing number of various classes are offered in Spanish in the US.

I agree, it's very nice of him to offer the class free to foreigners ... apparently he's already well known among Koreans, but he's fully bilingual and would be a great resource for many of us who've rescued dogs and have questions about training/behaviour. My dog is a perfect angel, but I don't think it would hurt to get information that might help me understand her better.

but anyone know of any reputable dog breeders in Seoul? ive heard the pet store puppys are usually in poor health.

i know i should adopt but would like to get a puppy
