I live in Suwon (teacher at an International School), and don't need a cell phone often. Is there still the option to have a prepaid cell phone in South Korea? I bought a 3-year-old Cyon phone from another teacher who left last summer, so I have a SK phone. I would rather buy like 30,000 KRW and hope to get like 3 months usage than pay 16,000 KRW/month and be stuck with a contract.

Anyone know if the prepaid plan is an option?

I have considered buying an iPhone, but I go back to the USA for 6 weeks a year. At Walmart in the US, I can buy a GSM phone with $30 airtime for $50, and presumably put the SIM card into the iPhone (?) if the iPhone is not "locked" to KT. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Barry
