My school says it's "not their job/responsibility" to hook me up with cable TV and Hana Box, even though I've said I'm going to be the one paying for it (obviously).
I'm in the middle of my contract and have my ARC. How would I go about acquiring cable TV and Hana Box without the help of Korean-speaking coworkers? Personally, I don't think they want to renew me (feeling is mutual) and since I'll have a different job out here in 5 1/2 months, I guess they would rather not go through the effort, somehow. Who knows. |

Not sure about Hana box but if u have ur ARC then you get cable hooked ip with C and M Cable, they also offer a cable tv/internet package. They have an English helpline, if you don't get throuh keep trying, the English speaking staff are not always on duty

Yeah, you shouldn't expect your coworkers to help you out with stuff like that. I know that sounds jerkish, but they have their own stuff to do.
Personally I never ask my coworkers for help with stuff like that, simply because I don't want to owe them anything, and I don't want them knowing my business.
Have a Korean friend help you. Korean girlfriends/boyfriends are awesome at this stuff.
Alternatively, I'm sure SK has an English phone line.
Here's the main customer service line. It says they have English speakers available.
