Hey all,
Finally got my ARC and my phone! Good times!
But when I try to dial abroad, I get a woman telling me the number does not exist. Bad times.
I tried doing 0044 (the code for the UK), no luck, and my phone does not have a "+" to replace the 00.
any ideas what to do?
oh im on LG Oz. |

You've gotta dial 002, then the country code, then the number...
(unless you're using a calling card)...
Beware of the cost though... My phone is 1700 won a min. to Canada... |

Actually, just 44 is the code for the UK. In the UK, you'd always dial 00 before the country code for overseas calls, but it's not the same here (or in many other countries for that matter).
There are various prefixes you can use in Korea, depending on the operator you're using for international calls. I use 002 from my LG Powercom internet phone and from that phone it's really cheap to the UK. BUT, as someone said above, 002 is not so cheap from a mobile.
You can also try 00700 or maybe 00345. I rarely call overseas on my mobile, but if I do I just use the plus followed by the country code. On most Korean phones I've seen you can get the + by pressing zero for a couple of seconds. |
