To answer your question yes there are plenty of second hand shops, but they will rip you off big time. My wife sold a bed set, table and chairs, washing machine, and 19in. tv. They offered her 60,000 won. I was disappointed she accepted that amount of money. But according to her it's the Korean way.
I believe they are called 재활용 센 타 (Jaehwalyong center) which is recycle center.

The 2nd hand stores sell used furniture more expensive than you can buy on gmarket new.
If you are looking for a pawn shop type of place, they will lowball you like no other. I'd say its best to privately sell your items, or just donate them to a good cause.
People are always coming and going in Korea, so it shouldn't hard to find someone buy what you are selling. |

I tried to sell a bunch of stuff to one of those places. Before even seeing the stuff, they offered to come and pick it all up--for free!
I second the donate it or sell it yourself idea. |
