I broke my wrist a month back and am now starting physio. So far the treatment has been good bet not great. The doc was quick to order up a CT scan and diagnose the injury right away (which was awesome) but hasn't done much about asking more details or finding out if there might be any long term tendon or ligament damage. The folks in physio were not informed about the type of injury and they haven't done any accurate measurements to find out how much loss of function or movement there is, nor are they monitoring progress. So...

Anyone out there know a good place to get some good physio, where I might be able to buy some physio equipment (some rubber tubing, a ball for grip strength...that sort of thing) or where I might be able to get a good consult? I would like to get on this so I don't lose any function in my wrist.

Any advice would be appreciated from the expat community...especially from one of those docs who lurks around here sometimes.

Thanks in advance.

This is a great clinic to go to. The head doctor speaks passable English and is very knowledgeable. The staff in the physical therapy department are excellent. If you are anywhere near Seoul it is well worth checking them out for your wrist injury.

You can buy physio bands and other therapeutic exercise equipment on-site.

I also broke my wrist and will be moving to Seoul in May. Is physical therapy covered by national insurance? How much will I have to pay out of pocket for each session? A ballpark number would be great. Thanks!

I had insurance and went to the Seoul Now sports injury clinic in Bundang (seohyun) for physio after a torn rotator cuff.

It cost me 3000 or 3500 per 30-40 minute session.

My co-worker had intensive physio and massage (2 hrs) every day for 3 months after an ACL surgery and it cost him about 1 million.

Wow, that is cheap. I was going to hold onto my job in the US to take advantage of the insurance, but it looks like that might not be necessary.

Thanks!
