...Metro 2033.
Great game, much in the style - as stated - of STALKER. However, where STALKER left an almost black hole for its open-endedness, Metro is on a rail, much like HL1. Loads of fun, very challenging, heavy atmosphere (again, as in STALKER, the sense that you are very alone and very vulnerable), interesting environment and tight gunplay...give it a go. I am running the PC version, 1920x1200, "high" settings, No AA, 4x in game AF. "Very high" brought my poor 4850 to its knees...not quite a slideshow, but near it.
Have fun. |

Looks cool. Did you check the recommended system req's!? They're worse than for Bad Company 2.
Dx11 is killing me! |

Runs fine in other modes. DX11 has many features that are cool, but not necessary to gameplay, a lost art these days.
For me, running in DX9 mode is best with a 4850 and at my monitors' native res, which is quite high. DX10 mode works ok, but not as fluid.
So, mercifully, the game offers recourse for us poor folks. Still looks great as well (subjective and certainly a compromise, but I am not about to upgrade my card anytime soon) and like I said, gameplay is unaffected. |

I just tried it.
FYI: It's unplayable on an 8800 series card at any resolution. 15-20fps
o well. |
