So- I had my certificate which is only good for one year logged in, no problems during that time. This year, I go to the bank to make a savings account, and to try and transfer money to other banks where I have accounts (in Korea). However, unfortunately the woman states that there will be a charge if she does the transfer on her end, and she tells me that she cannot do it today ( ) but it has to do it another day. So I return home and try to fix the procedure and do it from my computer.

Here comes the problem part-
I "updated" my certificate the night before with the same password, yet today there seems to be a problem with logging in. I mean- there is no way I can access anything. Going back to the bank is not an option, as I only have an hour to do all my financial business in.

Has anyone else had trouble concerning the internet banking renewal process? Should I reset the password at the bank? Is it possible do do at home? Help!

Got everything mashed out-
stinkin KB! I own a mac and got Windows virtual software just to handle that (and other) Korean bank(s).

If I had went to the bank, they probably would have reset the ID or some other screwy issue.

Just now, Koreans are looking at foreign banks and noticing they don't use ActiveX

Does anybody bank with IBK? I plan to open a KEB account soon, but my employer helped me out with opening an account at IBK for my first paycheck. I tried to install their software on IE8, Firefox and Opera, but all I got was an unwanted firewall installed, and I STILL couldn't log on. Do I have to do something like install IE6 to get this to work?

In which case I'll just wait until I can open an account elsewhere....

i have a KEB account and wanted to use my credit card to do some online shopping on an international site.
problem was, the site asked for a password. i went to the bank, the girl at the counter said i have to re-enter my pin and then itll work. i did that and once i was done she goes on 'oh, and now you need a new credit card'.
i waited for my new card, signed up for online banking, got it registered and got a certificate. for the registration i have a password now and for the certifacte as well. next to it i have banking codes (in germany we call then tan-numbers) that i have to enter sometimes when im being asked for it.
however, my problem is, i still couldnt shop on the internet site. it was a rediculous amount of 44.000krw. i do value security, dont get me wrong, but isnt korea overdoing it a little. one pin, two passwords and the banking codes.. and in the end you have no idea which password to enter when being asked for it. not even the korean girl at the counter could help me.
i guess i will have to do without internet shopping..
or can someone tell me how to do it right, so i can actually buy stuff online again?

just try foreign internet shops as they value your security

I do all my online banking with KEB and I have NEVER has a problem. They rock!!! Switch banks to KEB and save yourself all the trouble
