14 Mar 2010

Hundreds of powerful US bunker-buster bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean in preparation for a possible attack on Iran.

The Sunday Herald can reveal that the US government signed a contract in January to transport 10 ammunition containers to the island. According to a cargo manifest from the US navy, this included 387 Blu bombs used for blasting hardened or underground structures.

Experts say that they are being put in place for an assault on Irans controversial nuclear facilities. There has long been speculation that the US military is preparing for such an attack, should diplomacy fail to persuade Iran not to make nuclear weapons.

Crucially, the cargo includes 195 smart, guided, Blu-110 bombs and 192 massive 2000lb Blu-117 bombs.

They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran, said Dan Plesch, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London, co-author of a recent study on US preparations for an attack on Iran. US bombers are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours, he added.

If an attack were in the works, is it at all likely that the US would send its weapons on a privately owned ship? Come to think of it, is it ever done? The most powerful bombs--short of nukes--are boxed up and shipped around, unguarded, on private merchant ships?

I didn't see any evidence in the article to support the contention. I think the writer just ate a bad batch of haggis and got to hallucinationg.

Add Netanyahu into the equation.

Report: PM to ask US for bombs against Iran

Sunday Times reports Netanyahu will press Obama administration during upcoming Washington visit to release sophisticated bunker-busting bombs needed for possible strike on nuclear sites

Ynet Published: 03.21.10, 07:55 / Israel News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will press the American administration during his upcoming visit to Washington to release sophisticated bunker-busting bombs needed for a possible strike on Irans nuclear sites, the Sunday Times reported in its website.

These plans have been in place for a long time. It is hard to say exactly when Netanyahu will order the US to do it, but the rhetoric has been ratcheting up lately.

Razz

Anyway, you could have placed this on the Will the Iran War start soon? thread.

Where do you suppose Obama's Nobel Peace Prize is right now?

I know you're a conspiracy theory fan, but I didn't know until now that you buy into the International Jewish Conspiracy.

You see, there are these things called "emoticons," and...

You know, if you believe one, ya gotta believe them all, right?

Have you followed the news in the last couple of weeks at all, or seen the thread, Israel bitchslaps Biden?

Yes, I have. It looks like Bibi will have to come crawling at some near point. There is one theory that Obama is angling to destabilize and ultimately oust him in favor of a more tractable coalition government.

Yes, however they do not always convey exactly what the poster means. For example, the smiley face in your post indicates that you are happy with and fully mean what you just posted. Is that a wrong interpretation?

Unless informed otherwise, I'll take your several years of conspiracy boosting as meaning it's very very likely you believe in the International Jewish Conspiracy.

I guess it'll be AIPAC's call then. Neutral

That was not a "happy face" Smile but a razz. Razz

Between us, you are the only one to mention the "International Jewish Conspiracy." Shall I take that as you believing in it?

Anyway, the Chinese seem to be going increasingly down that path:

China finally Learns the Truth about the Jews

Whos to blame for the current global financial crisis? According to a bestselling book in China, which is leading the sales charts in the country, the answer is clear: The Jews.

In the eyes of most Chinese, Jewish people are considered smart, rich and good at making money. Bookstores in China offer a variety of self-help books titled, How to make money like Jews, and The secret of Jews global success.

Until recently, the notion that Jews and money were inseparable carried no anti-Semitic undertone in the country, but a relatively new book called Currency Wars threatens to change all that.

The books author, Song Hongbing, claims that behind world-changing events like the battle of Waterloo, Adolf Hitlers rise to power, President Kennedys assassination, and the deep recession in Asia during the 1990s stood an intricate conspiracy aimed at increasing Jews wealth and influence.

One of the trucking companies I used to work for hauled weapons for the military, but this was inside the US. I would hate to know how many times the drivers unhooked from the loads at truck stops to "bobtail" home or to a nearby movie theater, restaurant, etc, leaving the trailers vulnerable to being stolen. Very Happy

I would be very surprised if the government doesn't hire private companies to transport weapons from the US to the war zones. Even in the war zones themselves, private workers contracted by the US government outnumber the soldiers in our military.

Netanyahu wears the pants in the relationship. Obama will continue to give Israel over $3,000,000,000 of our money no matter what Israel does. Netanyahu will continue to say, "Get my money bitch," and Obama will keep giving it to him for as long as Obama is our president.

Sounds like a conspiracy theory.

I don't think the USA will invade.. but I imagine they will use aircraft strikes with those new super bunker busters before Russia ends up selling Iran their new Anti Aircraft systems. They would never occupy Iran... its too big.

Yikes!

You mean there are truck-loads of hand grenades sitting around truck stops while Billy Bob meets his truck stop momma for a quickie? Does Tony Soprano know about this?
