Hi guys,

from Glasgow!

Having a hell of a time with the degree transcripts....I spoke to my graduation office who told me rather rudely:

1) they have never did this before
2) its not in the regulations
3) Therefore, they wont sign or stamp the transcripts.

Did anyone encounter this issue, and if so, how did they overcome it?

Perhaps there not quite understanding what you need. Its not a stamp or seal on the actual transcript, its a college stamp (just the normal one they put on every piece of paper) on the seal of the envelope that you have the transcript. If you explain to them that its just to show korean immigration that you have not tampered with your transcript in anyway, it may help.

Good luck

Hey, a fellow Glaswegian here just about to apply to EPIK.

What university is it you go to? If its Glasgow Uni then do the following(trust me on this)

Get your transcripts posted to you
Take them up to the Fraser Building (the HUB), that colourful carbuncle right next to the library
Speak to the lady at the student services desk next to the tuition fee payment desk.
Tell her that you got some transcripts a few days ago in the post, but they did not put them into signed and sealed individual envelopes like you requested.
The lady will take your transcripts, put them into new envelopes and then stamp, sign and seal them all for you right there. They will also datestamp them if you request it.

You have to get it done in person I believe as its not University policy to send Stamped, Sealed and signed transcript envelopes to anyone but employers. They are happy to bend this rule though if you take the transcripts to them in person and explain why you need it done.

And make sure its the Envelopes and not the Transcript itself that gets stamped and signed.

Ah the tekkie college Laughing

only joking.

Not sure how caley go about with their transcript process unfortunately. Have you tried going to them in person though and explained the situation? Print off the requirements to get into Korea page from a recruiter, or if you are doing EPIK, from the EPIK website and take them to your admissions office to show them that its an actual requirement for your transcript envelopes to be stamped and sealed. Good luck in convincing them.

I got a Law degree with honours, and with ambitions of joining the Crown office, so please Id rather we didnt bother with the Glasgow Uni/Caledonian snobbery factor pissing contest.

Yes, I did approach them in person explaining that it WAS a requirement.....no joy. :/
