I want to do some geocaching (see www.geocaching.com for info about this), so I thought I'd buy the cheapest GPS I can find since all I need to do is enter waypoints and find a location.

However, the cheaper models tend to only allow manual waypoint entry (instead of auto-loading them via a cable connected to your computer), and even worse, a maximum of 6 characters for each waypoint, which means you can't use 7 character geocaches.

Also, given that electronics are generally cheaper here than in the U.S. (right?), perhaps I should by the kind of GPS that I'd like to eventually use in my car when I go back to the states.

Can somebody give me some advice about different models, your experience with GPS here, and recommendations of where to shop for them (Seonin Plaza, Yongsan, Gmarket, Naver, where else?!)?

I want to spend between 50,000 to 150,000 for one that couldn't really be used in the car or up to 300,000 won for one I could eventually use while driving.

Is there a big accuracy difference between a 6 character and a 7 character unit? I have a Garmin x-trek, cost about $99 and I think it is 6 characters. Bought it on ebay from the states and had it shipped over.
