Finding large-sized shoes in Korea can be a real pain. Yesterday, I happened to come across a store in Itaewon that claimed to have up to size 17 (in.). My friend bought a size 16 pair of Nikes for 80,000 Won and a pair of off-brand size 15s for 30,000 Won.
The store's name is "New World Shoes Shop." The store's address is #119-26, Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-kan, Seoul, Korea, and the phone number is (02)798-6796. The map on the back of the store's card claims that the store is not far from the Hamilton Hotel. The store was about a 10-15 min. walk from the Itaewon subway exit.
I hope this helps everyone with or knows someone with big feet. |

wow, what a useful post! not that I need big shoes...
I've had trouble shopping for loved ones in Korea cos everything is small!
Tried to buy golf gloves.. the XL size was only a little larger than my hand! and.. i dont have a big hand.
wouldn't mind anyone who can tell me where I can get jeans with a little more hip room. |

I think I've seen the place. It's a few stores down from KFC on that side of the main street in Itaewon. I didn't know they had Nikes. |

I discovered my mistake. The Korean system appears to use millimeters instead of centimeters.
13 in. = 330.2 mm
14 in. = 355.6 mm
15 in. = 381.0 mm
16 in. = 406.4 mm
17 in. = 431.8 mm
At least according to http://mdmetric.com/tech/cvtcht.htm |

New World Shoes sells some pretty good shoes. I bought a pair of Catarpillar boots there that have held up pretty well for the last two years. If you are going to buy those Nikes, ask where they were made, they might be fake. Also, you should bargain with the guy. The prices on the larger sized shoes are really high. |

Where is this? Is this really on the KFC side of the street a few doors down from Hamilton or it further away?
Any other tips for finding size 13 or 14 shoes? The Nike, Reebok, and New Balance stores have all stopped selling over size 12 (after having no problem getting shoes for 5 years!)
How else can I get shoes? Order internationally? |

Thanks OP said 10-15 min walk from Itaewon subway and you said near Hamilton. That conflicts. Maybe the OP went to the Noksapyeong (sp?) station to access Itaewon or just forgot.
Were these legit Nike's, New Balance, etc... Current models or old? |

That he did. Won't help me much if I don't speak any Korean though. Thanks for info. though. I'll give it a whirl. |
