I read that Namdaemoon is the best place for eyeglasses. Can you offer info on how best to go about it? Any Western brand frames available? Can they be had in 1 day? I looked at a few common optic shops outside of Seoul and didn't like the frames. I'm willing to pay a bit more than you would in a Homeplus, Lotte Mart, or Emart as I would like at least a minimal level of English with some good frames selection. |

Homeplus and E-mart are pretty bad for frames. There's western brands all over here.
Not sure about particular shops in Namdaemun, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding good frames. I think most shops offer them the next day, not same but you may get lucky there. |

Yes you can get nice frames in Namdaemun. Some shop keepers should be able to speak English but either way its not that hard to communicate cause all you have to really do is point to what you like. You can get decent discounts if you have good negotiating skills and they usually give you eye exam and glasses within an hour if they have the time. |

I'll have to get up early Saturday morning to make my way to Namdaemoon to find my some new specs.
Anyone here refer any optic shop in particular or do I have to actually search a place I know nothing about by just randomly doing whatever, thus, wasting precious time? I just don't have any free time during the week to do anything, but need some nice new specs on my face ASAP. |
