March 17th is soon approaching and i havn't seen any events posted here about it yet. I remember last year a lot of pubs had ridiculous specials on drinks and food around this time. When and where are the events this year? Post here.

I don't know about the specials offered by the pubs/bars/restaurants, but I did a quick google search and found out when and where the parade/celebration will be. It will be March 20, the Saturday following the actual day. I found the info on seouleats.com I tried to include the link, but it wouldn't work. So, here's the info:
Quite a few people have asked if the Irish Association of Korea will be holding their annual parade. I'm happy to announce that they are. Even though my father is of Scottish decent, our family likes to celebrate like the Irish. Here's more information on the event:
We are very happy to inform you that 2010 St Patrick's Day festival is coming soon.

Date: 20th of March (Saturday)
Location: Cheonggyecheon Place

1. Main Stage
- Irish rock band
- Cheerleader Performance

2. Opening

3. Grand Parade

4. Happy Ireland
- Guinness Zone
- Ireland Zone
- Photo Zone
- Ireland Food Zone
- Face Painting & Balloon Zone

In addition to the activities on the list, there are many fascinating events.
St Patrick's Day Festival is opened for everyone regardless of national origin, age, gender.

The festivities have been muddled down since they moved them from Daehangno to Cheonggye Plaza.

Yeah, I am surprised they moved it from Hyewha. I guess as long as there is free beer, I'll still come! And facepainting too! I can bring the kids.

The only question on my mind at this point is...
WILL KOREAN U-2 BE MAKING A RETURN THIS YEAR????

Please please please say yes...
I don't know if it was the free booze or the awesome crowd, but something about "Sundray, Broodry Sundray" really spoke to me...
(To the point that friends and I have been looking forward to seeing them again for a year LOL)

A Korean U2 band, that sounds like deadly craic. I only got here 2 weeks ago from Ireland.

Sure it would be rude not go a bit wild that day I suppose. Here's hoping it doesn't stretch into the Sunday club though which Im sure it has all the potential to.
