i use lots of songs for phonics. honestly, i find that's the best way to help them learn it. i'm at an elementary school where they want me to implement phonics for every lesson. i do a sound, get the kids to tell me words with the sound (younger ones i show pictures for it) then i have a short video from youtube that i show them. i'm getting ready to start long vowel sounds, and will be teaching them the song Apples and Bananas where you substitute the sounds. you wouldn't believe how excited i am about this. haha. best bet though, do some searching online, you may find something that works for what you need. i can't really do games as i've got 30+ kids at one shot. not enough time. you can find matching worksheets for sounds, coloring sheets for the younger kids. you could find spelling ones for the older kids (more advanced obviously). there's just so much to use. good luck! |
