There has never been a better time to see Nanta than this coming March 27th. Nanta has teamed up with 10 Magazine for a promotional scheme to fill seats and create buzz, and youre benefiting from it if youre not a Korean that is. Theyre looking to have an international Double Mingle Party (their title, not ours) and to do that, they need foreigners like you. Tickets normally go for W60,000, but one day only March 27th at 1:30 pm - not only do you get tickets for only W30,000, but you also get incredible deli sandwiches like pastrami, ham and turkey from Sujis Deli. To take advantage of this incredible deal on Koreas most popular stage show, email [email protected], and tell them youd like tickets to the 10 Magazine Double Mingle Party! And those of you who are Korean, you actually can participate you just have to sign up and attend with a foreign friend!

This is the link for the above event on the NANTA website-
http://nanta.i-pmc.co.kr/en/community/event_view.asp?strView=On&eLanguage=ENG&state=strIng&eNo=34&page=1&Search=&SearchString=

On the website it stipulates that "Your group has to be a minimum of 1 Korean national and 1 foreign national or extra must be paid."

Also, reservations need to be submitted by March 20.

I recently HAD to go to this during EPIK orientation. I totally didn't get it. Way too loud. No substantive story. No dialogue. Just a few actors(definately not musicians) beating on tables, buckets, cans, chairs, and other things from the kitchen for about 90 minutes!! Ouch!! Even the name, 'Nanta', sounds suspicious.

Nanta's great, but I wish they would do something new. I've been to it three times now, mandatory, with various schools and EPIK.

Ignoring your incredibly obnoxious and common misspelling of "definitely", why don't you think they're musicians?

I think it was about twenty minutes into the show when I started to get the nagging feeling that they weren't particularly skilled dancers, singers, or musicians! Maybe they just got stuck with a bad script, director, producer. Who knows? But if you're going to use buckets and stray kitchenware for instruments in your musical, and beating on those buckets and cans is going to comprise 90% of the show, then you had better know how to play the hell out of that chopping block!!! Otherwise, you get "Nanta".

Well some people may like this kind of live theater. This is the cheapest price you may ever pay for these tickets.

I think they're awesome.

Maybe you were just feeling grumpy about being told what to do, you did make a point of emphasising it being mandatory. Did you happen to be sitting with a couple of others who started putting it down? It's bores me how often in those sort of seminar situations people turn to bitching to have something to connect on.

Are they still doing The Wedding Banquette or is it a new production?

I've had to see it three times now thanks to school/EPIK functions. Some casts were definitely more talented than others, but none of them weren't capable. Anyhow you've changed your tune from them not being musicians to them simply being not particularly skilled musicians, which I can't really argue with.

Did anyone else go? We had a very good time. The audience was really into it and it was sold out. I haven't been around that many waygookins in one room since orientation.
I would highly recommend it for everyone, including people who don't necessarily like live theater. It's a lot of fun. There's audience participation and it's all in English. Wink
