I recently changed jobs and had to apply for my own health insurance rather than go through the company I work for.
I had been to the office with a former co-worker who helped me explain the situation. I returned last week on my lonesome. The employee remembered me and tried to help. My Korean is terrible so she phoned a colleague who spoke some English. He explained my former company had not yet cancelled the health insurance, but he would phone me when they cancelled it.
Yesterday he phoned me and explained that I should travel back to the office sometime soon. I went today and he helped me get everything set up. He was very polite, uncommonly helpful, and a slendid fellow in general.
I just thought I would post here to give some kudos where it is due.
This was the office near Gongduk station. |

I'll second this. I went to a different branch, but they were incredibly nice. The guy put up with my (many) misunderstandings, rang an English translator, and was just generally very pleasant and patient. Quite a different experience from immigration! |
