Hi Billy,

Does it have to be cassette? I've got a couple of digital 4 track recorders i'd like to unload. One is a Yamaha which records on mini-disc and the other is Boss which records onto memory cards.

(Apologies for the rather uninformative post but) I suspect ebay's your friend on this one! As long as you can get it in for under 150,000 or so, you'll be exempt from paying import duty.

As an aside, I heard once that if you really want to work on some old recordings, you should try and get the exact same model you did the original recordings on. Even if you match the playback speed/nr/bias etc., there'd be differences in the heads between brands/models.

i'm getting the feeling i might have to go there, too... i will stop by nokwon to see if there's anything there before going that route.

you are correct about tapes and units differing... i was simply going to sample the tracks and re-record, had i not found the same unit i had... (tascam 414)

thanks
