|
|
My fiance and I are interested in taking Korean classes. Ideally we only want 2 nights a week (maybe 2 hours each class) after 5:00pm. I've emailed a few places and I checked out YBM (3 nights a week) but I can't seem to find anything. I'm willing to pay for the classes if I can find one that fits my schedule. Does anyone know of some Korean classes opening up anywhere?
Thanks! |

The Korean Culture Center at City Hall has free lessons. They are from 7-9pm once a week, day depends on your level. You need to register by next Wednesday and take the placement test next Wednesday for the April session.
You need to have been in Korea for at least 3 months before hand though. |

I take classes at Seoul Korean Language Academy
http://seoul-kla.com/
I chose them for their flexibility. I could tailor the lessons to fit my schedule. The facilities are great and so far so good. Definitely worth checking out. |

Thanks for the replies. I think the one at the Seoul Language Academy seems a bit pricey for me at the moment and I have only been here one month so the City Hall class is out for now. Anyone know of other classes? |

I'm starting Good Morning Academy -- http://academygm.com/
Their Seoul location is near Seolleung, but I live near Ori so I'm at the Bundang campus (Seohyeon). I just signed up, so April will actually be my first month, though I'd talked to them for a while and sat in on a class before.
(if you find you're interested in that, you can message me and I'll help you save some money. Their prices are more negotiable than the posted rates might lead you to believe.)
I think their main selling point for beginners is that they are tailored for English speakers. It's not strictly a "Korean-only" style class at the beginning, which especially for adults who are intent to learn, I think is better.
I've also gone to the free (1000won donation) class near Sookmyung U. - http://kongbubang.wordpress.com/ - and find it helpful. It's 90min long, 4pm on Saturday. |

Where do you live? If you live in south-western Seoul and want a private teacher, my wife is going to begin teaching lessons again soon. If you are interested, let me know! |

1) Sookmyung Womens Univ. - Saturdays 3-5pm (I believe)
2) another one NEAR Sookmyung Women's Univ - Saturdays 3:30-5pm (I believe)
3) Korea(n) Foundation downtown near city hall, I believe
4) various Seoul Global Center locations (I recommend the ones in Itaewon or downtown)
Just google and you will find more info on all of these (all free!) |

KevinLS: Thanks for the info. I can't pm you because I don't have 25 posts yet. Is it 160,000 for one month? How much less do you think could be negotiated? I would be interested in the Seoul classes
Here's my email: [email protected]
Thanks again |
