Another Navy corvette, the Sokcho, reportedly fired shells from 76 mm guns at an unidentified object running north at a speed of 42 knots from the northern side of Baeknyeong Island because it believed it was a North Korean boat that was fleeing after attacking the Cheonan. But according to the military it proved to be a flock of birds.

How in the hell do you confuse a flock of birds with a small boat, sub, or whatever it was they thought was in the water? I don't know much about birds, but most aren't flying around at 42knots. Sounds like the navy is trying to hide something.

hey, if you are manning the gun and fire control tells you to fire...you fire. what did the flock of birds look like on radar/detection systems? when in doubt in dangerous waters...

and...they are mostly all conscripts.

And when you need a reason not to go to war - that enemy boat can easily become a flock of birds.

I guess what I meant to ask was, "Does any government ever tell the truth at all?" or "Has any government ever told the truth?"

In any event, yes, it was worth repeating.
