This is the palace just north of Gwanghwamun Plaza.
To celebrate Arbor Day, a cherry tree planting event will be held at Gyeongbok Palace on April 4th.
Cherry trees were planted at Gyeongbok Palace by the Crown Prince so that his father, King Sejong, could enjoy cherries. Cherries were one of King Sejong`s favorite fruits.
Cherry trees will be provided to the first 200 visitors for planting.
Title: Planting Cherry Trees
Date: April 4th, 2010, 14:00~ 17:00
Place: Around Dongjeongmun (gate) at Gyeongbok Palace
Registration: Not necessary. First 200 visitors will be given cherry trees for planting
○ Everything is free of charge
○ 3-year-old cherry trees will be planted
○ Commemorative photos will be taken with a Polaroid camera.
○ Pepper, cherry tomato or lettuce seedlings will be distributed.
○ The event will be canceled if it`s raining.
