I am looking for short term accommodation in Seoul but I forget the Korean words for the guesthouses/residences that offer this. (Edit - And I don't mean a love motel!)

Can anyone tell me the names of the Korean buildings that offer this kind of service?

I know a hostel is a possibility but I am wondering if there are any cheaper options. A private room in a hostel for 3 weeks sure adds up.

I will be coming to Korea for approx 3 weeks (April 8 to the 26th) and would prefer to be on the green line (line 2) in southern or western Seoul.

Anywhere between Sadang and Hongik University on line 2 would be ideal but I am open to any accommodation in western or southern Seoul

If you have a room in a shared apartment or an officetel to sublet during these times please let me know.

I believe a "hasuk jip" (student accommodations) in Shinchon is what you're looking for. I don't have hangul on my computer so I can't show you how it looks in Korean but there are plenty up on the hill behind McDonald's in Shinchon. They'll probably expect you to stay, or at least pay, for a month but still a better deal than a love motel. I've stayed in these for a month at a time on several occasions and always had a good time, met lots of foreign students, etc....
