There is some restaurant on Parking lot street that always has a long line up of Koreans outside of it... It's a small resaturant and the menu is in Korean...
Does anyone know what this place is and what the big deal is?
Thanks! |

you're not talking about the japanese ramyun place, are you?
i don't know where parking lot street is, but know that there is a small ramyun place in hongdae that always has a line down the relatively quiet street that it's on. |

dharma bum - that sounds about right. Actually, the restaurant appeared to be in a basement or something, because we could never exactly see the entrance to the restaurant, for... It did appear to be japanese though |

hmm, well, it's not in the basement, but i do remember the entrance being somewhat weird. i only ate there once about a year ago, and thought it was pretty good - though maybe not worth the 30 minute wait. |

There is no food or restuarant that I would wait in line for, for any lengthy period of time. Especially in Korea. |

I know the place Dharma Bun is talking about. I've heard it's supposed to be highly renowned, which it must be judging from the lines. But you have to wait up to an hour, and people camp it out before opening.
I'm determined to wait it out someday.
Hell, I waited like 3.5 hours in Atlanta for the best burger ever, an hour for such incredible ramen should be worth it. |

I know that ramen place is popular (in my opinion way over hyped)but I don`t see what all the fuss is about to be honest. I used to live in Japan, and in my opinion there are better ramen places in Seoul (though very few and far between) than that one in Hongdae/Sangsu. I`m not really a big fan of the thin noodles that that place serves (exclusively - or at the times I went) and relatively small portions but anyway but to each their own I guess.
I miss that okonomiyaki place more that sadly closed down a long while back |

I used to live in Japan as well and I would really appreciate any ramen tips. I actually ate at Rokurinsha (3rd ranked ramen-ya in all of Japan according to the Supleks Database) on my last trip back. So far, in all my travels, no ramen in any country has managed to even attempt to match a bowl at any decent ramen-ya in Nippon.
Oh yeah, there's actually a Fugetsu in Myeong Dong if you're hankering for some okonomiyaki. It's decent enough for Korea--the food bane of my existence. |

They have one near Myeongdong Cathedral too and less people.
I wouldn't wait more than 30mins though. |

is it near the Far East Broadcasting Company?
It's probably Hakatabunkko (하카타코). I'm a huge fan of Japanese ramen, and imho, this is one of the best places in Seoul to get it. The line is worth it. They don't have too many choices - just ask for the most popular item, or if you see someone eating a bowl with a cloudy, light brown broth, then point to it and ask for the same thing.
They also have cloves of garlic and a garlic press and you can mince an entire clove into your bowl of ramen. delicious.
