Recently at my Hogwan the owner approached me and asked me to go teach at another Hogwan on Saturday, its about 2 hours away and I said sure if they were willing to pay 30,000 won an hour. They agreed but the balked when I told them travel time would be included. 2 hours there 3 hours teaching and 2 hours back. That was the end of that.
Why cant Koreans realise that my time is valuable to me. My next contract will have clearly stated time constraints...teaching time/at school time etc. No more of this oh its 30 hours arranged how we like.....oh you dont get paid for prep time or for doing extra classes, the way we figure it you are only working 28 hours a week. Bull hookey! If I wanted to work a 40 hour week I would still be in Canada. |

Was he also going to offer to make it all legal and get your ARC endorsed for a second school. Well done though for pointing out to your director that travel time is also your time. |
