Seems my power supply needs replacing every 7 months or so--is this typical? I don't always have the computer on, but I do a fair amount of downloading. |

2 things come to mind...
a) Not grounded properly (case gives you a tingle when the power is on)
b) over heating:
- dirty fans
- PS too small/light for the constant load (as compared to peak load) and the transformer has a melt down.

Seriously what sort do you buy and how are other electronics in your house?
My HEC power supply has lasted years. |
