I saw a post before coming out here ( I could not find it in the search) where someone mentioned a gym for training in MMA. Does anyone know where one might be? As soon as I get settled in I want to join.

I've seen ads for Total Martial Arts System in Itaewon....it looks to be across from Outback...on the Exit #1 side of Itaewon station.....02-796-7976....or....011-9944-2198

email [email protected]

Never personally been there myself...just saw an ad in Groove magazine.

I hope they don't suck!!

Somebody recommended Choi Mu Bae's gym to me. www.letswrestling.net

I haven't gone there yet.

Not to hijack this thread, but I want a place to train sambo in Seoul. I found this site: http://www.koreasambo.com/ but I couldn't understand much with my limited Korean, except that there might be a place in Jamsildong to train. If you're interested as well, call them and fight out their hours and post it here.

check out http://www.speedandpower.co.kr/

the gym is in seoul near Konkuk uni where line 2 and line 7 intersect.

you'll probably need a korean to login and browse the website.

a few of the guys that work out there used to be members of korean top team but branched off and formed their own team. nice guys and they are actually looking for strong foreigners to work out with. the gym itself has good equipment, including kettleballs, squat racks and large truck tires to roll or to hit with sledgehammers Shocked

Alright, let me try this again. There are several places to train MMA in Seoul. There is MARC in Suyu which is run by Lee Seung Jae, a Brasa brown belt who started of as a kicboxer before training in MMA. He is a nice guy as well.
There is also John Frankl Jiu Jitsu in Apgujeong. Last I checked he is the only black belt in Korea and he is also a nice guy as well. When he isn't at the gym there is always someone else around more than qualified to instruct. That said, its all groundwork.
There is Korea Top Team. A Kyopo guy I do judo with tells me they train at Children's Grand Park and I plan to check them out as they are near my house.
I have never hard of this power and strength place but if they used to train at KTT then they might be good. I want to check them out too. There are other places. The best place to ask is on the Sherdog.net forums. There are a few guys who train in Korea on there. They could add 2-3 legit places to train to this list.

If you want to check out the speed and power place together PM me. Same goes for KTT. I have never been to either gym and I want to see what they are like. I can't train again until my shoulder heals but I want to get back to training within several weeks of getting the pins out.

Which one were you talking about, Choi Mu Bae's gym or the Sambo one?

I had my friend in Seoul call the sambo gym... Fedor is going to be training there August 1st. It's at Sincheon station.

Wel, I went and looked for the letswrestling one yesterday but couldn't find it. Walked everywhere, but that doesn't mean it wasn't staring me in the face.
