I've got to pick up some diaper rash cream later today for the baby. Can I find zinc oxide cream at any department store?

We had a tough time finding zinc oxide cream for our son when he was an infant in Korea. We managed to get a hold of one tube of it but then the company discontinued making it. We ended up getting family to send cream from home. However, we did find bepanthen (for diaper rashes) at a lot of pharmacies. I found it to really work on a diaper rash. A tube of it should only cost you about 4,000 won.

You could also look for diaper cream in those baby shops that are usually next to women's hospitals. But, the products they sell are hugely marked up.

By and large it is NOT available in Korea. We got 2 largish "tubs" of it sent from home.

There are other options if getting it sent from home is not a choice for you or your need is immediate.

As mentioned above bepanthen (for diaper rashes) is widely available.

Petroleum jelly is (although not perfect) also an option. It is not medicated but it does provide a water barrier between the baby and the wet.

I think you should also be able to find this in the department stores these days: http://my.lotte.com/lotte/sitemap/goods/LCCategoryGoods.jsp?curDispNo=044126002015014&orgDispNo=044126002015014&curGoodsNo=5221752

Not living in Korea anymore, but they do have the stuff nowadays.
