Let me know when Robotec (finallly) comes out in theaters THEN I'll show interest and hype....
Apocalyptical movies are a wornout out as csi, bones, or any other investigative criminal/medical units on tv. Is the U.S. THAT depressed and unimaginative? I guess as long as people keep pay'n for that overpriced ticket and cable, they'll keep churning out horrible movies and programs. I fear it'll only get worse....apocalyse is approaching! The sky is falling!
Seriously, I've walked out of 2 of the last 4/5 movies I've seen in the past year. Fine....last 3 years....I'm a single fella! gimme-a-break!
HA! You're kill'n me guy....
*edit* ok....I admit... I'm excited about the second TRON movie.....go back to watch'n your NCIS. |

Actually, a Korean lady friend of mine likes him so much she even has his pic as her cell phone background.
As for the movie, I just saw it last night and liked it way better than I expected. It was like a cross between "The Road"(which was good) and "The Road Warrior". |

I thought it was quite lame compared to The Road. |

Perhaps, but I was not really directly comparing the 2, I just meant Eli had a little of the feel of each IMHO. But there are probably a lot of other "lone wanderer" movies one could compare Eli to as well.
No, comparing "The Road" to The Book Of Eli" would be apples to oranges. Cormac McCarthy's Road was trying to show how humanity would really act in a post apocalyptic world, while in Eli, well I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say Denzel's character seemed to have a little something extra. I found Eli entertaining nonetheless. |

Actually, it's pretty funny that people (maybe not you) outside of the States think that the only shows we produce are shows like CSI, Bones, Friends, etc. Are you that stupid to think so? It's also funny because the shows that DO make it out are consumed by a lot of your countrymen--that's why they make it out in the first place. I'm pretty sure most non-Americans (and sadly, many Americans) have no idea what Arrested Development or Firefly or Breaking Bad or etc. etc. are. It's almost obscene how many brilliant TV shows we have that most people will just never get to see. Instead, they get Friends or CSI.
The only British TV that gets (minimal) exposure in the States is Torchwood and Doctor Who. That must mean that British people only make cheesy shows about space aliens! How loony of them! (I love both shows, btw) |
