I have tried using the search option on here, but it doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment. The screen just freezes up.

I read apost by those who had done the blood pressure test and how theirs was high. They wondered if it would have an impact on whether they got an arc or not?

I was wondering had anyone failed it or had to resit it and had high blood pressure and what were the results of this?

Has anyone had to leave the country because of it?
Has anyone been refused an arc?

Waht was the result?

I think they are looking for drugs and STDs and them alone, under the guise of an overall check...

When I went for the medical my BP was sky-high, as I knew it would be. It is a learned response from always having the test for something at stake.

The worry beforehand just makes things worse, of course. My BP is usually below the 120/80 considered normal, but test day showed 170/120, higher than even my worst anticipation.

The eye test also showed a blip. Without warming me up on the big stuff at the top of the chart the nurse went straight to the rows right at the bottom.

They all looked like Hs to me. So I said H for all of them, until I realized it was unlikely they could all be Hs. So I went on by saying H in an insistent way. Theres no way of making it up, it sounds too unnatural. The eyes are checked separately, so that was a lot of Hs that I spouted.

I was passed with flying colors. They thought I was wonderful.

I know a few people who had high blood pressure, and they had no problems getting their ARC.

But... I've also heard of people being asked to get tested again.

I remember a post on here from someone who reported that their white blood cell count was a bit high, and immigration required a retest. However, mine was also a little higher than the normal range, but the lady at the immigration office told me, when I asked about it, that it was no problem, and that they're only concerned with the drug test and the HIV test.

So, basically it just depends on the immigration officer you happen to get.

My blood pressure is typically low or borderline. But the day I took my physical was my second day on the job (first time here), I was plenty stressed out, and I forgot that I was going in that day and had a big egg, cheese, and bacon breakfast.

So my BP was a little on the high side. They told me to go relax for 10 min and try again. It was a couple points lower, but still too high. So I went and relaxed longer and tried it again. I ended up doing it either 3 or 4 times. It was higher than they wanted, but I didn't get thrown out or anything. I think they may have fudged it a few points to help out.

Thats interesting to know.

I had just been made to run up and down 3 flights of stairs to get to the testing room before the nurse left to go home and so it had ballooned.

Had to do it again but its still higher than it shoould be, so not sure what happens now, Admittedly the amount of just general stress caused by changing jobs, countries and meeting new people plus the change in diet caused by a lack of your usual foods being available would be likely to push anyones BP over thier normal limit.

Though will wait and see what happens. It all depends on the day and the person making the decesion regarding these issues in Korea.
