My mom is coming to visit me in June, and I was wondering if anybody knew of good hotels or hostels in Ansan, preferably in the Handaeap or E-Dong area. The foreigners I know here don't really know about that stuff.
Thanks! |

| I put my folks in the Seowon 2 years ago. 60,000 a night, and that was with a credit card. They might knock it down a bit if you'll pay cash. There's also another tourist hotel behind it (I forget the name) that wasn't as nice, but might do a better deal. Also, whilst you're there, I reccomend the sandwich shop behind the Seowon (face the front of the Seowon, go 100m down the left street) assuming it's still there! |

There are a number of hotels in Jungang Dong. Some are scummy, but cheap and others are pretty nice. The best is located directly behind the SuperDom (Super Dome) night club. Costs about 40 per night, new, clean, large screen LCD TVs and fridges in rooms and right in the heart of Ansan, near the Gojan shopping area and just down the street from Lotte Mart (with cinemas and restaurants).
I set my folks up here when I lived in Handae-ap. They really liked it.
Sorry, don't remember the name, but if you go out of Jungang Station (left once you go through the turnstiles), take the underpass, go right, go past the DaVinchi glasses shop, once you see the Super Dome turn left (small alley). It's easy to spot.
If you want cheap, there are many motels in Jungang Dong located on the top floors of some of the buildings. About 30,000 for a night. Good for a night's rest, much cleaner than the ugly exterior. |

| The hotels in Jungang are all love hotels. They are cheaper, but they're not set up for long stays or English speakers. No harm in trying though. |

Money is money, my folks stayed at the one behind Superdom for a few weeks.
Simply ask for a room and ask how much. All ya need to know in Korean. |

True, but it depends what kind of environment your folks are after. If you're gonna stick them in a love hotel, let them know first!
Also, there's the Ra-seong hotel in Sangnoksu, I forgot about that. |

The term "Love motel" is highly over rated. Most are just hotels, often better than higher priced 'western' style hotels. Yes people have sex there, but that happens in most hotels. Of course you get your daily package of condoms...mom may not like that.... |
