I want to take a day trip to North Korea, most like Kaesong.
I found a good tour on www.gonseekorea.com but apparently they aren't booking right now. Does anyone know of a good tour to take INTO North Korea? (Not just to the DMZ) |

Last I heard, trips are suspended indefinitely. Given current relations, I wouldn't recommend going at all.
Not only the obvious, but helping prop up a failing, violent, desperate regime. |

One use to be able to visit either Kaesong or Kumgangsan via visa-free tours. I went on the Kaesong day trip, and it was very cool.
Unfortunately, this has all been shut down since at least sometime in 2009. Sorry. For the foreseeable future - Your only options are just the DMZ, or taking an expensive visa-needed tour that enters N. Korea via China. |

I went to Geumgangsan a few years back, but like already stated, it's not open at the moment.
Even if it were, it's a 1 night 2 day thing, not just a day trip.
DMZ is your best bet for a 1day tour, otherwise, go through China and getting a more "full" experience (if you could call it that) that lasts a few days. |

Right, Kaesong though *was* available as a day trip though. I'm unsure if there were ever longer options. |

| if yo do the DMZ book it with the USO - it's probably the best trip running and includes the joint security area. |

If you really want to visit NK, go through China. I went last August and got to see the amazing Arirang Festival which is the last mass communist gymnastic display, in the world.
I took this from the 'other side' of the DMZ.
