There's a Giant bike store at Hapjeong station. I'm not sure the exit, maybe number 3 or 4.

I had 4 Giants in Taiwan. People like to steal bikes.

Didn't think there was any concept stores in Korea... most stores should have access to Giant's complete lineup - just show up with a model name and a size and they can order you one that afternoon.

A good deal less than they do in the States.

Giant has recently gone into the direct importation business here in Korea and recently shouldered out the existing importer. Shops that carry Giant now buy directly from the factory and prices have since plunged.

Do you have a link or anything? I am about to head back to K-town and was thinking of bringing my road bike with me. If I can find a reasonable one there I won't trouble myself hauling it around the world.

Well if your bike at home is dialed in the way you like it... then I'd say bring it. Giant's are great bikes... but Korean bike shop owners are far from the best bike fitters I've run into. That said, if you've got a guy you can trust (I do) then getting a bike without a test ride doesn't seem as scary.

As far as bikes priced in Korea less than they are in the States, you'll have luck with both Scott and Giant. I paid nearly $700 less for my Scott Scale 40 back in September.

Guess it depends on whether you see yourself as a Menchov or a Cavendish.

Like I said dude, just about every shop in Korea has access to Giant bikes. It's not like in the States where specific shops do deals with specific distributors, in Korea every shop can do business with every distributor. The same guy who sells Cannondales can sell Gary Fishers and Trek - there's no limit on what your shop can order for you. Yeah, some shops have better relationships with certain distributors but you're not gonna figure that out without a lot of time and an intensive knowledge of Korean and Korean bicycle-industry-related vocabulary.

here is the link for giant in korea - with dealer locator that works and prices. Interesting to note that the published prices are cheaper than you find in australia - home for me - more so considering how weak the won is compared to the aussie dollar.

another sire worth checking is auction.co.kr - its all in korean so use google chrome with its built in translator.
cheers
