Most unis outside of Seoul will hire people without a masters. In Seoul, only a few unis still hire those with only a BA. The best way to get into uni jobs is to start in the uni's hogwon and try to get into the regular uni credit classes. Another way is to find someone who works in a uni and use them to network with people responsible for recruiting/ hiring new teachers. |

Your age will be MUCH more of an issue than anything else....most schools won't want to hire professors who are younger than some of their students. Especially with the men doing military service, a lot of your male students are going to be 24-26 years old.
I am not saying that it will be impossible....but you'd definitely be looking at the real starter universities out in the sticks, and not in Seoul.
The postings that say Master's required really do mean it, you are wasting your time applying for these jobs. Most of these schools have a policy in place that you MUST have an MA or 3+ years of university experience before you can work there, and they stick to this policy.
The postings that say MA preferred are a different story, you can apply to those jobs with only a BA. |

Thank you, sir. I have a close family friend who is a tenured prof. at Ehwa, but she's in the Public Health department. Could she be of help or would it need to be someone in the English dept.? |

Of course she can help. It's not what you know...it's who you know. That saying is about 5x as strong in Korea. |
