Any ideas for a newbie for their first long weekend. Looking for a relatively inexpensive, fun or relaxing getaway for 2 days.....

You need to give more info for us to help you.

-Where do you live?
-Do you have access to a vehicle?
-How much money do you want to spend?
-Who will you be travelling with?
-.....etc

Oh Yeah...the details might just help....well lets see...
I live in Seoul (Itaewon), I will be travelling with my roomate, able to spend money...but for a 2 day weekend I'm looking for something sensible.
HELP PLEASE!!!

Well the cherries are blossoming if that's your kind of thing. A trip to somewhere south like Masan will probably run you 40 - 60 K on Korean Rail.

getting a train out of here though may be problematic. 3(2) day weekend everybody seems to leave Seoul. You may be able to get something if you book say tomorrow or take the bus

otherwise there is plenty to do here in Seoul
