Hey people,
There's gotta be a good foreigner bar / place to meet other foreigners in Gangnam... right? There's too much around the area for there NOT to be at least one hotspot... So where is it? Good directions and I'll buy you a beer =) |

Ummmm the only place I can think of where I used to go when I lived there was Big Rock (a Canadian real ale place, big pub with lots of live music at weekends).
Can't recall exact directions but they have website. It is behind the row where Cold Stone Creamery is. |

Woodstock in Gangnam is usually fairly busy. Exit 6, go along either the 1st or 2nd street that runs parallel to the main street, and woodstock is on the left hand side of the street and on the 3rd floor. It's been a while since i've been there so my directions are vague, but most foreigners walking around there will be able to point you in the right direction. Big Rock is really nice, but expensive. |

any other recommendations? Just moved here recently so only know of Rainbow and Woodstock (where just about every foreigner in Gangnam seems to hang out at, not particularly a fan of it though)............ |

Rainbow is a really cool hookah bar in Gangnam. Not a great place to mingle and meet, but popular with foreigners nonetheless. |

Rainbow's nice, but not really a "Western" bar atmosphere.
Try Big Rock. They've got live music, sports on the TV, good beer, foosball/darts, and Western brunch on weekends. |

Try around Apgujeong. I forget how to get there, but Rodeo has a decent selection of bars. If nothing is too interesting, you can always try Monkey Beach. Personally, I'm not a big fan. It's kind of like TinPan/TinPan2 but a little better. |

This thread pretty much mentioned every place. Wa-bar has a few foreign customers now and then. I usually hung out there because it was slightly cheaper than Big Rock but not as loud as Woodstock. Plus I actually filled one of those bottle cap containers and got a free half liter bottle of whiskey. |

*beep* going to a shitty bar, check out the noraebang that is like a giant sofa. I'm too hung over to articulate it well but it's kinda like a mountain made out of one seat. I remember a fun night of singing, smuggled in soju and lots of those little soy pickled quails eggs. |

Not everyone likes noraebangs with the tinny midi renditions of all the New Kids on the Block hits. |

Yeah, i'd also like to meet some more people, and am living near the gangnam area. I also hear that woodstock is good, just haven't made it out there yet. Any other suggestions? |

the buckets are a plus if u want to get hammered, but the heavy meathead presence and lack of females is a killer. |

Not everyone likes making a huge leap from 'noraebang' to 'new kids on the block' but people still do it! |
