Strange. Even though I was never much into the Sex Pistols or punk generally, I was actually thinking about Malcolm McLaren a few hours ago. And now I see he has died.

I think late 70s punk was one of those "you had to be there" sort of things. And I definitely wasn't.

Some of the Sex Pistols songs are kinda catchy, though I'm taken to understand that there's supposed to be oh so much more going on then that with the music.

For some reason, I can't post the link. But he's dead.

From the BBC...

Quote:
Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of punk group the Sex Pistols, has died in Switzerland aged 64.

McLaren, the ex-partner of designer Vivienne Westwood, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last October.

Quite surprised. He wasn't just in the seventies but also did songs in the mid-eighties with 'Buffalo Girls' which was excellent breakdance stuff. I bought the record.

Well, going to Switzerland after being diagnosed with cancer seems like he wanted to go out on his own terms. Fair play to him.
