|
|
Hi everyone,
I've been in Jeonju for 1 week and decided to finally connect my UK Xbox 360 to the TV provided by my school.
In the UK, the 3 cables (red, yellow and white) would be used with a scart adaptor and then plugged in to the scart socket on my TV.
Here, the TV has no scart and only has yellow and white jacks. Therefore, the red cable cannot be connected leaving me with a black and white picture.
Can anyone help me out? There's no HDMI socket on the TV all I can see is the yellow and white jacks.
Only having been here a week, I'm pretty confused about how stuff works!
Thanks in advance! |

| The yellow jack is for video and the white jack is for audio. The black and white picture isn't due to the missing red jack (a second audio jack). Perhaps your problem is related to the different resolution standards between Korea and the UK. |

| The 2 jacks should work. I mean without the red one. They did on my old TV. Maybe you are on the wrong channel - there are usually 2 channels related to that connection, the equivalent of av1 and av2. Try to see if there is another channel. This is what happened with my old TV. Otherwise you can get a newer, decent TV from a 2nd hand store for around 100,000. |

Ahh interesting, thanks.
Perhaps, if I go in to the settings I could change it from PAL to NTSC.
I think I'll put this down as a schoolboy error |

Ok, I've had a look and there isn't a way to change the display settings from PAL to NTSC
so is the next step to get a TV that supports PAL, or do I have to buy a Korean Xbox? |

Looks like - HDTV should be okay, if you wanna pay though - I got one a few months ago, cost a bit but, well worth it for the visuals!! |

Just get an HDTV with an HDMI connection and you will be fine. You can get a smaller screen for pretty cheap. Check gmarket or the buy-sell forums on here. I have one made by pcbank. Discount company, but is good enough for games. |

Thanks for that
I've only been here a week so I'll probably wait a while before splashing the cash.
I'm not sure how to cope without playing it though, I'm missing Fallout 3 like crazy! |
