Hi,
So I am about to graduate from Tufts next month, and after a good deal of searching around, have failed to find anything in my potential field (food security/policy), and so applied to teach through Aclipse. They have offered me a position at one of the Seoul Main Branches at Chungdahm, making up to 3.25Mil/Month if I work the maximum 120hrs. This an hourly contract, meaning I would have to find my own apartment/insurance, but Aclipse has made it fairly clear that they will be helpful in this process. I have about 11k in loans from Tufts and would love to pay them back in a year, but also don't want to be miserable for a year. Any input/thoughts?
Thanks,
Ben |

40 teaching hours a week -- even if they're only 40 or 50 minute periods + prep time -- sounds like a very heavy workload, and having to tend to your own apartment expenses will reduce that 3.25 million noticably (unless you have enough key money sitting around to get an apartment rent-free with it, which seems unlikely if you've got debts to pay off). It sounds like you'd be working much harder than a public school teacher while not netting that much more than one. Are you okay with that? |

40 teaching hours a week? Wouldn't 120hours/month come out to 30 hours/week? |
Well that was some sloppy math on my part. 30 teaching hours a week is still no picnic, but it's no where near as bad. |
