It seems unseasonably cool still yet in the middle of April. In the states, they've been getting an exceptionally warm Spring with many warm sunny days as well as storms. It got just barely warm enough in the North part of the country barely enough for little leaves to start budding 3 days ago and the big whitish/yellish tree flowers to bloom, but you can kiss those good bye as it's going down into the 30's tonight and tomorrow. About 2 to 4 C. Korea sits on about the same degree latitude as Oklahoma City, San Francisco, and Rome. It's still brutally freezing cold North of Korea such as in Harbin, China so Winter is obviously lingering on up there effecting us in a cool way. I remember as a kid how 1st of March meant the start of the many 150+ warm sunny days to come just at 37 degrees North, about where Korea sits.

2 years ago in the US, Spring was unusually cool and late like this bringing us a shorter cooler Summer as well. I need to move further South. Wink

It IS unseasonably cool this spring - people who have been here a long time say it's the coolest in 30 years. Climate is Koeppen Caf, Caw, or Daf = Seoul is like Chicago, Jeonju (here) like Kentucky, Busan like coastal North Carolina. It usually has highs in the teens C most April days.

Well, based on what little I know - korea, china etc had the coldest winter in a long time, but also, so did many east coast areas of america and western europe.

Contasting, however, canada had a much warmer winter than normal, as did russia and other places.

Therefore, I would suspect this is just a flip of seasons thats slowly correcting itself over time - a long lasting thing. Either that or the ice age is coming around 2012.
